In September 1997, its 25th Anniversary Year, the College achieved national professional recognition in the form its first full accreditation of its Acupuncture course by the British Acupuncture Accreditation Board (BAAB). The BAAB was established to accredit, or approve, degree level training programmes and to establish and monitor rigorous academic and institutional standards within acupuncture training.

The College was reaccredited by the British Acupuncture Accreditation Board in 2006, and has recently been fully reaccredited in November 2009. We work closely with the BAAB in order not just to enhance and further course development but to ensure that we are offering our students the best professional training possible.

Graduates of the International College of Oriental Medicine are eligible to apply for registration with the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) and so attain professional recognition amongst its membership. The letters placed after the name of such a member are: MBAcC. The British Acupuncture Council is engaged in much work to represent and regulate the high standards of the profession.
